Who We Are

BSW Navigator (bswdegree.org) is an independent educational data site operated by Max. We publish objective, data-driven information about Bachelor of Social Work programs to help prospective students, families, and advisors make informed decisions. Information We Collect

BSW Navigator does not require an account and has no sign-up forms, so we do not collect names, email addresses, or other information you might associate with a typical registration. The only usage analytics we gather is anonymous, aggregate traffic data through Google Analytics 4. No analytics cookies are set and no persistent identifiers are stored before you accept; while consent is denied, Google Analytics receives only cookieless, aggregate consent-state signals that contain no user identifiers (see below). Separately, our hosting provider's servers and content delivery network (AWS CloudFront/S3) automatically log standard technical details — such as IP address and browser user agent — for every request, purely for operating and securing the site, and these logs are retained only briefly.

Cookies and Local Storage

We show a cookie consent banner on your first visit. Google Analytics 4 cookies are set only after you click "Accept" on that banner; before that point, no analytics cookies are set and no persistent identifiers are stored, though Google still receives cookieless, aggregate consent-state signals that contain no user identifiers. Your consent choice covers both the analytics and advertising storage categories under Google's Consent Mode v2 — this site currently runs no advertising tags, so the advertising signal simply defaults to denied alongside analytics. To remember your choice, we store a single entry in your browser's localStorage under the key bsw_consent_v1, which simply records whether you granted or denied consent and when. If you decline, analytics storage stays disabled under Google's Consent Mode v2, and no analytics cookies are set.

How to Change Your Choice

You can change your consent decision at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings, or by manually clearing your browser's localStorage for bswdegree.org. Once that entry is removed, the consent banner will reappear the next time you visit, letting you make a fresh choice.

Third-Party Services

We rely on a small number of third-party services to run this site. Google Analytics collects anonymous usage data, but only once you've consented as described above. Google Fonts and the jsDelivr CDN serve fonts and script assets directly from their own servers, which means your browser sends a request to them and discloses your IP address in the process. We also display widgets from ESY education partners that show sponsored program listings; if you interact with one of those widgets, that interaction is subject to the partner's own privacy policy, not ours, and the partner may set its own cookies as part of that interaction. We do not sell personal information to anyone.

Advertising Disclosure

We may earn compensation when users engage with sponsored education-partner listings displayed on this site. This compensation never influences the data we publish, the rankings we calculate, or any editorial content — those are kept entirely separate from our advertising relationships.

Children's Privacy

This site is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect any information from them.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time as our practices evolve. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date, so you can always see when it was last changed.
